Weekend in Review

Or, I guess I should say Saturday in review, because frankly the rest of my weekend was kind of boring.  Friday after my work-out I met up with a friend to go to a local Fish Fry.  As the Lenten season is upon us, I love going out to try different ones, and I hadn't been ot this one yet.  Pretty typical; good, but not outstanding.  Glad I went though!  Joel came back from his TDY last Friday night (around 9pm), so it definitely killed some time until I had to go to the airport to pick him up.  Since he wasn't home for Valentine's day, I had a surprise waiting for my Eager Beaver.

Get the "eager beaver" reference now?
I also had some chocolate covered strawberries and raspberries waiting for him.  Am I the best wife ever, or what?  Methinks so.

Saturday Joel literally did not want to leave the house.  I feel like the weekend is the only time I can get out of the house and have some fun, so I was kind of disappointed.  But, with his crazy schedule as of late, I knew he probably needed the rest, so I unhappily obliged.  With our snowfall that we had, it seemed imperative that we have a fire going for most of the evening.  I never had a fireplace growing up, so I am in love with the fact our house has one.  Although, I don't feel apt enough to actually build one.  Thank God for manly men, right?

Perfect for a cold winter's night.
That fire made it nice and toasty!  Reminded me of how nice the house feels when spring is approaching.  I thought it was the perfect time to open up a little something, something I found at World Market.  And I have to say, they didn't disappoint!  It is called a wine smoothie.  Wine plus a smoothie?  How could they go wrong?  I bought the peach flavor, and it was delicious!  I definitely recommend this product.

These are a few of my favorite things!
For the first time in a while, it was nice to feel like a normal married couple.  We cooked dinner together, cuddled together, and danced together (hey, I's gotsta have my tunes while I cook).  It was glorious.  I definitely don't take days like that for granted.

Saturday was saying goodbye to Joel (again), running errands, and doing schoolwork.  I can't wait until Joel is back for a while and we can try to get back to what normalcy we can.

I hope eveyone has a fantastic week!
